'Idol' alum's dad in legal trouble again

ALBEMARLE, N.C., May 23 The father of "American Idol" alum Kelly Pickler is in trouble again, facing four felony theft charges in North Carolina, officials said. The Stanly County, N.C., Sheriff's Department said Clyde "Bo" Pickler Jr. was charged with three felony counts of larceny of a motor vehicle and one felony count of obtaining property under false pretenses, as well as a misdemeanor charge of larceny, The Charlotte (N.C.) Observer said Tuesday. The elder Pickler is accused of stealing several older model cars from people's homes last week and selling them to area scrap yards.

Three months ago, Pickler's father pleaded guilty to two assault charges after his wife claims he attacked her.

In 2006, he was released from a Florida prison after serving a three-year sentence for stabbing a neighbor. The week he was released from prison, his daughter said she was voted off "American Idol."
