SEATTLE--If American Idol finalist Blake Lewis makes the cut Wednesday night on American Idol, he will be returning home to the Seattle area on Friday, May 11, for a day of public appearances and performances.
This week on American Idol, airing locally on Q13 FOX (KCPQ-TV) at 8:00 p.m. Tuesdays, and 9:00 p.m. Wednesdays, another round of performances and an elimination will reveal the top three performers. If the 25-year-old Bothell resident survives the vote tonight, then he will arrive in Seattle early Friday morning for American Idol's hometown visit. The American Idol production team will follow Lewis on a day filled with interviews, public appearances and singing performances.
Friday's appearances kick off with an exclusive interview and live performance on Q13 FOX News This Morning during the 8:00 a.m. hour. After a morning filled with live radio interviews, Lewis will perform a mini-concert free to the public at Westlake Mall Park at 12:15 p.m. From there, it's on to Blake's hometown of Bothell for a city-wide celebration beginning with a parade at 4:00 p.m. on Main Street. The Blake Lewis Idol hometown visit will conclude when he performs the national anthem before the Seattle Mariners home game vs. the New York Yankees at 7:05 p.m. at Safeco Field. Blake's visit home will be documented by American Idol producers and will air during American Idol on Wednesday, May 16, at 9 p.m. on Q13 FOX.
American Idol launched its 6th season earlier this year on Q13 FOX after holding auditions in a number of cities including Seattle. The show will run through May 23, when the next American Idol will be crowned during a 2-hour special.
