Ah, la la land. It's warm, it's sunny. And it's full of crazier than crazy American Idol fans. Fans that are pushing each other to get a good photo of Blake walking the red carpet. Fans proposing marriage to a guy they've only heard beatbox. Fans that cry - yup, cry - when Jordin and Blake wave at them.
We've had a blast so far. We (my photographer Cody and myself) got in Tuesday afternoon and were not expecting the HUGE setup FOX has for us. There's a large section (near the Kodak Theatre) in an outdoor mall-like area that has metal barricades around it - and the reporters (about 25 of us from around the country) are all housed in there. FOX has spots for 15 different cameras, and we can all be doing liveshots at the same time. When guests come into the corral, they are taken around to each of us. We can ask (maybe) two questions before they're whisked away. So far, we've chatted with Blake, Jordin, Blake's dad, the music arranger, vocal coach, Jared (who was cut at #13) and Rudy (who was cut at #23) and they were all great. So much fun.
In a little bit, we chat with the executive producer and the company hired to handle all the voting.
Keep logging on to myfoxcolorado.com - I'll take you for behind-the-scenes video tours of the American Idol madness!
