American Idol: Jordin Sparks Sparkles

Jordin Sparks looked every bit the American Idol with her three-song performance on Tuesday’s final performance episode of the hit Fox show.

Now, she just has to wait for the results.

The 17-year-old from Glendale, Ariz., is the betting choice. Her American Idol odds have her as a considerable favorite at -430 on the moneyline (meaning a winning $430 wager on Sparks would net a $100 profit). Her lone remaining competitor, Blake Lewis, is a +265 choice (meaning a winning $100 wager on him would yield a $265 profit).

As Idol watchers learned last week, though, there’s no such thing as a guarantee. The season’s strongest singer, Melinda Doolittle, was eliminated in stunning fashion, proving again that talent isn’t everything.

It’s likely to come down to how many votes Lewis, a hip 25-year-old from Bothell, Wash., receives from his bevy of young fans.

The champion of Season 6 will be known Wednesday night at the end of a two-hour season finale, which airs at 7 p.m. ET.
