It's been a season of shockers, scandals, weird hair and some pretty good performances on "American Idol."
The season wraps up Wednesday night when either Blake Lewis or Jordin Sparks is crowned the next "American Idol."
Until then, here's what you need to know to fake it through an "American Idol" party.
The hair
Sanjaya Malakar became a national phenomenon this season when he survived longer in the contest than anyone could have predicted.
The kid from Seattle took advantage of the spotlight to become a character.
Each week he showed up with a different - often goofy - hairstyle.
Remember the "Ponyhawk?"
"I was kind of shocked," Malakar told The News. "I was shocked at how distracted America can get by something as simple as my hair. It definitely opened my eyes."
Malakar, who will join the other top-10 finalists to appear on this week's finale, says he plans to pursue music, modeling and maybe Broadway in the future.
The legs
Haley Scarnato is a brunette who sang her way into the top 10.
Her singing was somewhat nondescript, however, and Cowell at one point said he didn't even know her name. (He later apologized.)
After the judges told her she needed to spruce up her look, Scarnato, with the help of a stylist, went for short shorts that showed off her long legs.
"I never got onstage with anything that I wasn't wanting to wear," Scarnato said. "I guess, I should look back and not worn the shorts."
People still ask about her singing, she said, but sometimes the whole deal is "the legs."
Since leaving the show, Scarnato has been planning a wedding - she's getting hitched in January - and preparing for the "Idol" concert tour.
"It was amazing," she said. "We were really living the dream of a lifetime."
The pictures
Beautiful Point Pleasant, N.J., native Antonella Barba won the hearts of millions of viewers when she and her best friend auditioned for "Idol."
But then someone posted sexy topless images of Barba on the Internet, and talk shifted from her singing to her breasts.
"The pictures that were released of me - the ones that are of me - they are very personal and that is not how I intended to portray myself nor do I intend to portray myself that way in the future," Barba said when she was voted off the show.
"The thing with Antonella was so crazy," Sparks said. "We try not to think about it, but it's hard when it's in your face."
Scarnato felt for Barba.
"She had to deal with a lot of stuff with her family. That was really difficult for her," Scarnato said. "She had to get up onstage and perform."
The shocker
Week after week, Simon Cowell praised former backup singer Melinda Doolittle as the best of the bunch.
When America voted and she was kicked off last week, Cowell shook his head in disbelief.
"I was up against two amazing contestants," Doolittle said, noting that she likely pulled votes from older viewers, who probably didn't spend hours voting. "But that's okay. I really feel, personally, that I've won."
