Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - Simon Cowell seems to have known all along that LaKisha Jones would be going home on Wednesday night. The "American Idol" contestant was voted off the show after disappointing the judges with her take on Bee Gee hits "Run To Me" and "Stayin' Alive." Now, only three finalists remain.
The finalists who are hoping to be crowned the newest "Idol" are Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis and Melina Doolittle. However, Lewis almost didn't make it to the top three after Cowell described one of his performances as "absolutely terrible." He is the only male left standing in the competition.
Barry Gibbs of the Bee Gees was also a special performer at Wednesday night's live show, where more than 45 million votes were cast to keep their favorite contestant "stayin' alive."
