Quick Hits: Prince, Eminem, Yellowcard, American Idol

After announcing a lengthy London residency for this summer, Prince will also apparently be settling down in Los Angeles for a series of concerts. The Los Angeles Times reports that Prince is set to announce a seven-week residency at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, which would begin June 15. Every Friday night for seven weeks, Prince would play a late night, two-hour set for just a few hundred people. Afterwards, the Times reports that Prince's personal chef will take over the kitchen at 2 a.m., as the hotel's restaurant will serve dinner and Prince will perform again, with a Jazz ensemble.

A lawsuit has been filed against Interscope and Aftermath Records over Eminem's digital royalties. FBT Productions and Em2M claim that the labels should be paying out half of net receipts on downloads and ringtones, not a lesser rate based on sales, according to Billboard.biz. Eminem himself is not named in the lawsuit.

Yellowcard will release Paper Walls, the follow-up to last year's Lights And Sounds, on July 17. The lead single, "Light Up The Sky," impacts at radio on June 4. The band will hop aboard the Warped Tour for three weeks, starting June 29 in Pomona, CA. Other new tunes on the album include "Fighting," "Paper Walls" and "Dear Bobbie." Billboard reports that a CD/DVD deluxe edition will be released as well.

After Americans elect their newest American Idol tomorrow night, AOL Music will debut the winner's first single immediately at 10 p.m. ET. The song will be streaming on AOL Music, and go on sale at the iTunes Music Store beginning at midnight. Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis will square off on Fox tonight and tomorrow night to determine this season's big winner.
