Los Angeles, CA (AHN) - With stars such as Gwen Stefani, Gladys Knight, Brittany Murphy and Tony Bennett looking on, Jordin Sparks became the latest "American Idol."
The 17-year-old singer currently has a record-breaking 74 million fans after the winning votes were tallied up.
The two-hour long "Idol" finale included performances from previous winners Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Hicks. Gwen Stefani also showed the budding singers who it is done by taking to the stage and performing.
During the show, stylist Cojo talked to the then-finalist, asking her how she planned to stay grounded when becoming an international performer. Jordin said, "I keep my family with me and they keep me really close. They keep me grounded."
After winning, an emotional Jordin tearfully told her parents, "Thank you so much for everything... Mom, Dad, I love you."
The new star's first single will be "This Is My Now."
