Fast National ratings for Wednesday, May 9, 2007
Wednesday's ratings followed their usual pattern, with "American Idol" and "Bones" combining to give FOX a victory.
FOX averaged an 11.5 rating/19 share for the night, easily beating CBS, 7.3/12. ABC took third with a 4.7/8. NBC, 4.2/7, was fourth, and The CW trailed with a 2.7/4.
Among adults 18-49, FOX's 6.8 rating was more than double that of its closest competitor. CBS, 3.1, edged ABC, 3.0, for second place. NBC's 2.1 was good enough to beat The CW's 1.9.
"Bones" led a fairly quiet 8 p.m. hour, scoring a 6.4/11 for FOX. The season finale of "Jericho" earned a 5.3/9 for CBS. ABC grabbed third with "According to Jim," 4.1/7, and "Notes from the Underbelly," 3.8/6. "Thank God You're Here" finished fourth for NBC, while "America's Next Top Model" -- which was second in the 18-49 demo for the hour -- drew a 3.5/6 for The CW.
The "Idol" results show delivered a 16.6/26 for FOX at 9 p.m. "Criminal Minds" improved CBS' score to 8.3/13. "Crossing Jordan," 3.7/6, moved NBC into third, beating out reruns of "Jim" and "George Lopez" on ABC. "One Tree Hill" posted a 2.0/3 on The CW.
CBS held steady at 10 p.m. with "CSI: NY," 8.3/14. "Lost," 7.2/12, was second for ABC, while NBC's "Medium" came in at 5.2/9.
