After "American Idol," try out for "Laker" version

Inspired by “American Idol?” Ready to showcase your talent? Planning for the “Laker Idol” competition at Lakefront Days has begun.

This year’s contest is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 4 at Lakefront Park. Auditions begin in July.

The competition includes four age categories. The committee can only accept the first 20 audition applications received per division.

Participants do not have to be from Prior Lake to compete.

Preliminaries will take place Sunday, July 15 and/or July 22 at T.J. Hooligan’s in Prior Lake to determine eight participants in each division to compete at “Laker Idol.”
